M. Ismail menulis:
..."King Narai himself is said to have been under Iranian cultural influence in terms of his daily food and dress and his preferred architectural styles", ..
..He (Narai)delved into the percepts on the natural disposition and lusts of man but when it came to beholding the beauty of the true Belove and mastering the Perfect Subject, which consists in knowing the one God, his inner eye of understanding remained limited to the bare exterrior of the world. Despite the breadth of his studies, the king held firmly to the path of ingratitude before his Maker and to this day he continues on the road of ignorance....(SAFINE-YE SOLAYMANI, Tr. O Kane, pg.99)
Walaubagaimana pun, penulis mendakwa bahawa hubungan antara org Siam (kafir) dgn org Islam semakin baik pada zaman King Narai berbanding zaman ayahanda nya.
...However, a certain degree of change did take place. Contrary to the fixed attitude which his father displayed, the presentt king has made certain concessions and the most basic beliefs he held, have been shaken to their foundation. His pagan faith is no longer so firm and the hatred which usually exists between the no-believers and the faithful, has disappeared..(SAFINE-YE SOLAYMANI. pg. 99)
...the King of Siam sincerely was interested in raising himself, of acquiring distinction and improving his way of living, his household and his possessions. He was eager to learn about the other kings of the inhabitated world, their behaviour, customs and principles...Thus dressing himself with sincerity, he has abandoned his former style of clothing and he has started to wear Iranian clothes, our kind of long embroidered tunic, trousers, shirts and shoes and socks..
Keris??
..When his servants ask what kind of weapon he wishes to wear, he replies, 'What one wears must conform to one's rank and I find the Iranian style dagger (sejenis senjata spt Keris) alone worthy of my waist...
...But he (King Narai) has turned his head aside from wearing the turban because of its weight. He declares, 'My head has no desire for the elaborate crown of Jamshid. This simple cap of felt is proper to my station'...(SAFINE-YE SOLAYMANI, pg.99)
Dlm penutup satu artikel mrk, mereka menyoal. 'Keris ini melambang Muai (Thai) atau silat? (Melayu). Kadang-kadang mrk lupa yg mrk bukan bercerita pasal Melayu, tapi tentang Siam. Siam tetap Siam lah, walau ugama apa pun mrk tetap Siam yg cakap Siam, senjata pun cara Siam. Kalau keris, bukan Siam tapi Makasar.
